Scientific Illustration & Infographics
Space Overview
This is a collection of scientific illustration and infographic projects in biology and archaeology. I explore how visual storytelling can make complex knowledge more accessible, from species anatomy to archaeological layers and cultural contexts.
How I approach it
I see illustration as a way to translate knowledge into images. I work closely with researchers and specialists to understand their processes and find visual forms that communicate their work. Sometimes that means drawing with scientific precision, other times it involves designing infographics that connect different times, spaces, and ways of knowing.
Printed on paper to play is to exist
This scientific illustration focuses on the nesting behavior of the neotropical cormorant, showing how anatomical features like the beak reveal essential aspects of the species’ ecology and feeding strategies. The work was developed with guidance from the Illustraciencia team, supported by CSIC Spain, and was published in Manual de Ilustración Científica (Editorial Planeta, 2022).

Scientific illustrations of Telmatobius macrostomus, the giant frog of Lake Chinchaycocha, created as part of the visual materials for the Sanitary Management, Handling, and Release Protocol, developed by biologist Roberto Elías and published by the Peruvian Ministry of the Environment. The project is part of broader conservation efforts focused on protecting this endangered species, supporting fieldwork through accessible and rigorous visual tools.

Visual materials and infographics created for the Ministry of Culture of Peru to support the public dissemination of archaeological heritage. The work involved collaborating with archaeologists to design educational panels and graphics aimed at non-expert audiences, translating complex content into accessible narratives. This section also includes archaeological infographics developed for academic research, focusing on site layering, occupation processes, and territorial dynamics.
